Nikki Taylor creates sensuous and subtly observed sculptures of the human form in woven wire mesh, with particular emphasis on capturing the mood, energy or the personality of the figure.
Trained in Portraiture and Life Study for clay sculpture cast in bronze, Nikki is uniquely able to combine these traditional skills with her own techniques to create wire mesh portrait sculpture. These can be commissioned as face or body relief portraits or complete figure, life-size sculptures.
Each of Nikki’s wire mesh sculptures is created freehand from her original photographs and measurements of live models. None of the work is done by technicians and there is no moulding wire round solid originals. Each piece is a unique sculpture created by Nikki herself.
